Hey everyone! This is your favorite retrospective loud owl, Screaming Rowlet, bringing you this week’s news roundup from the world of gaming! Think you missed something important in the last few days or just want a refresher? This is where you’ll get it. There’s a lot to cover this week, so let’s get right into it.

Rapid Fire News

Kicking things off this week, new information about the rumored Spyro the Dragon Trilogy remaster has surfaced. First, a Twitter account with the handle SpyroTheDragon was created back in February. The account is currently protected and is running under the name FALCON McBob. Activision is currently working on a voice over project under the codename FALCON. And the email connected to the account has been discovered to be an Activsion email. These details were posted by Twitter user JumpButtonCB. The second bit of information was that a code input for a Spyro demo in the N-Sane Trilogy was discovered and it was put there intentionally. This information was revealed by Twitter user mat5b. Finally, the report from Laura Kate Dale on Kotaku had also leaked that Crash Bandicoot would be releasing on other consoles after the one year window expired, which is now confirmed to be happening in July on the Nintendo Switch. While this information doesn’t completely confirm that validity of a Spyro remaster, it definitely does help stoke the engine on the hype train. The remaster, if real, is expected to be announced this month.

A quick reminder that Operation Chimera has launched for Rainbow Six Siege. Outbreak is also live and runs until April 3rd. Be sure to read Operative Charlie’s previous article for a look at the lore behind this update! In a bit of surprise news, Ubisoft and developer Massive have announced that The Division 2 is officially in the works! Not much information is known, but the game was leaked earlier this week and officially confirmed on the Ubisoft Nordic Twitter account shortly after. In more surprise (but not really surprise news), Activision just announced Black Ops 4 is the newest entry in the Call of Duty franchise. After weeks of rumors, leaks, and speculation, the confirmation is finally here. The reveal comes with a teaser trailer, a Community Reveal Event date (May 17th), and a Global Launch date of October 12th. Honestly it’s the same song and dance every year, but we’ll see what Activision does with it this time.

This Week in Patch Notes

Fortnite has launched the v3.2 patch for their game. The big focus is the inclusion of the Teams of 20 mode in Battle Royale which we covered earlier in the article. A few new outfits have been added as well in both BR and Save the World along with Hoverboard Boost Pads for STW. For full details of these additions along with the other fixes and changes in this patch, head on over to the official patch notes.

Upcoming Releases

Starting off the releases, Scribblenauts Showdown drops on PS4 today. It’s the latest entry in the creative sandbox franchise that took the world by storm, I’m super excited to get my hands on it. Remember that all things can be solved with a jetpack and some rope.

Next up, the Devil May Cry HD Collection arrives on March 13th. The collection contains the first three games in the franchise at a great price, so if you’re into high action, fast paced hack and slash action games, then this is a must buy for you.
